I miss people. Exceedingly so.

I miss the inside jokes. I miss the giggling about nothing specific. I miss sitting down to eat and simultaneously reaching with our forks to sample each others' plates. I wish I could sit in the back seat between two of my friends and sleep on one of them. I miss getting all excited when we see each other outside rehearsal and waving and grinning like idiots. I miss staying at hotels and swimming. . .so relaxing! I miss eating at Panera and ordering like, seven mango smoothies. I miss beating the boys to the church every single Sunday morning. I want to sing more Sound of Music. Wait, there wasn't any song left to sing. I wish I could see you guys every day like I used to be able to do. I see your pictures online and I smile. Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I think I might get in my car and drive to where you guys are. That would make me happy. =)

I love you all. See you soon!!

Summer Plans

I have pondered my summer and considered what my activity will be. Here's what I've come up with.

1. Working. A LOT.

Two jobs. . . double shifts. . .crazy patients. . .stressed out staff. . .sneaking cookies in the patient kitchen. . .getting distracted by all the shiny things in Kohl's. . . all to make money that I can't even spend. Sigh.

2. Attempting to get a tan.

This is always a fairly fruitless effort. Several reasons for this. One is that it seems to never be sunny here. At least not when I'm not working. It also doesn't help that I usually sleep until an hour before I have to work. Oh, and I bought a kiddie pool last summer to entice me to spend more time outside. But that fills up with BUGS AND LEAVES, so I usually never get in it.

3. Mediating online between two people who can't seem to decide how they feel about each other.

And getting in trouble while I do it. Oh my word. NEVER interfere with young love. At least, not when you are as awkward and obvious and big mouthed as I am. Also, we must hate online conversations as they are saved and can be COPIED AND PASTED and come back to haunt you.

4. Watching sitcoms and crime shows with my family.

I swear, we're addicts. I think it's cute, though, how we all sit around--three of us on the computer. . . one of us reading the paper--watching TV together, laughing at Ray, Marie, and Doug. Good times, good times.

5. Spending far too much time on Facebook.

Five hundred friends and so little time to keep up with all their wall posts, updates, and pictures! And then there is flair; flair is ADDICTING. Oh my word. And the board is FAR TOO SMALL. I think it would be cool if they gave us different "display options" for our flair. Like, maybe a fridge or something. Like you would have in your dorm room. Or a Christmas tree with flair ornaments!!

6. Road trip with my brothers.

I have no idea where. I was thinking the UP. Andrew has suggested San Diego because "it's the furthest thing away from Saginaw in these here United States." His plans include swimming and crossing the border to Mexico. Should be interesting.

I think there's more but I can't recall. More to come later!

Where do I begin. . .?

I have no idea. Yike. I haven't really blogged since like, last summer.

In August, I went back to Northland for a year. I think most of you knew this, as you have seen pictures on Facebook and such. I LOVED this past year. Allow me to ramble about my peeps!

My roommates were Audrey and Jen. Audrey and I had been roomies before and we decided we would enjoy each other's company for another year. When I met Jen for the first time, I thought she was shy, but it turns out that was a
false impression! Then I met Jess, who grew up with Audrey. Soon after that, Jenny, from across the hall, started coming over. Add to that mix Corrie (from freshman year) and Kathleen (from home) and I had a pretty sweet and amazing group of friends. I love those girls and I am so thankful for the times we spent talking, laughing, arguing, eating, getting ready, napping, studying. . .all that stuff.

I also traveled for Northland on a music/drama team. There were nine of us students. We
quickly went from being strangers to something quite close to family. We had an amazing time traveling on the weekends, ministering in different churches and taking part in a few special events. I have never ministered with such a close group of friends, so that was wonderful experience. The girls--Amanda, Becki, Kelly, and Angela--were quite like sisters in the way we interacted and UNDERSTOOD so much about each other. And those boys--Mitchell, Travis, Chad, and Vladimir--quite the gentlemen and quite the cut-ups, never failing to make me laugh! The team is traveling this summer with a different pianist and I shall miss them so.

God was so good to me in giving me godly close friends. He also taught me SO much about ministry, his church, and his Son.

I am home now. Happy to be here, but I am missing everyone I have to be without. However, I am looking forward to summer--work (which means money!), road trips, a tan, and watermelon. Yippee!!

I think that's enough catching up for now. More--and hopefully better--inspiration may strike me later. Maybe in the form of a poem or something. LOL

Summer is coming; I can't wait!!

Home. . .finally

I'm home for Christmas!

The semester was amazing. . . lots of laughter, lots of studying, lots of junk food, and not so much sleep. There are also lots of pictures, but those are on Facebook.

Christmas plans include sleeping, working (occasionally), losing weight, and watching TV. I also intend to spend lots of quality time with the family.

I intend to blog in detail but right now I am tired and don't feel like it.

Merry Christmas!

I think I would feel better if I pounded my head against a wall. And then slept for a day (after eating some chocolate).

It's true.

Recent Happenings!

. . . I don't even know if I spelled that correctly. . .

So much has gone on during the past few weeks or so!

Top three were as follows:

1. Artist Series. Jen (and others) did much orchestrating and arranging and managed to put together a group of like, 12 of us. I had a great time getting to know and hanging out with this big group of us. Pictures are on Facebook if you'd like to see.

2. Spirit Week. I actually dressed up some this year which is slightly random for me. My favorite day was Roomie Twin Day. Aud, Jen, and I went as hillbillies which was a sight to behold. Once again, the pics will be on Facebook soon.

3. Witness. We traveled for the first time last night! We had a good time in the van getting to know each other and talking. The Conference was held in the beautiful Osthoff resort. So GORGEOUS!!! We were a blessing to the ladies and the session we sat in was a blessing to me! Mrs. Barba talked about walking as Christ walked in simplicity. She spoke about how His life was busy and full but never ever hurried. If I have too much to get done (and not be able to sleep). . .then I am too busy!!

This month has been awesome. I am having much fun with roomies and friends, enjoying my school work, and loving what God is teaching me! Still I miss home and the friends who aren't here with me, but God is good!
